Division 3
Monday, April 27 - Grade 2
Grade 2 Math
Read Ways to Count
Talk with an adult about some things you noticed. Were you able to match the jars to the numbers?
The activity linked, on the same page, as this little book does not "correct" the student's work, so it does require an adult "along for the ride."
For some self correcting skip counting, try this activity Drop the bubble into the correct box by clicking on it. It's in counting order (ie. Counting by twos.)
Try counting by 5's from different spots. If you choose correctly, the balloons go up. If not, they go down! Be sure to read the instructions!
Math Activity of the week:
Skip Patterns - this activity can be done once, or multiple times, depending on the numbers they choose. It can be extended by adding triples, as well - example
3
6 (double three)
9 (triple three)
Resources
*Parents - some activities that would help with estimation and skip counting are included Here
Some tools to help your child - Pick ONE tool, to reduce confusion.
A great online numberline for skip counting, advance the line by moving the blue bar along the top of the screen.
If your child is more "hands on" try a seamstress tape, or this printable numberline. Or they could use a hundred chart, from this week's Game of the Week.
